18 Weeks

How Far Along: 18 weeks
Size of baby: Large mango (8oz, 6 inches)
Maternity Clothes: Pants, yes. Tops, some. The pants are just way more comfortable.  I've been wearing a lot of flowy dresses lately.
Gender: Its a girl! I can't wait until she has a name!
Movement: I finally felt the flutters this week.  This is the same week I first felt them with Barrett too.
Sleep: I can't get enough!
What I miss: Being able wear anything I pull out of my closet.
Cravings: None this week.  Just trying to drink a lot of water.
Symptoms: Other than feeling huge not to much.  I've had a little heartburn and my ankles were a little swollen yesterday.
Best Moment this week:  Another week down.  This has nothing to do with pregnancy but getting all my Fall decorations out made me happy.  The changing seasons just remind me that the time is passing and we're getting closer.  I got a new phone so I'll have plenty of room for pictures of her and her brother.  One of my good friends got her first hair bow.  I can't wait to see if she has hair like her brother!
I had to add this one because Ally had to be in it.

The Horton House Daily: Week 38

I miss blogging like I used to blog.  I'm going to try to get back to writing about our everyday life again.  I'm afraid I've missed documenting a lot that I'll wish I had written down.  But for now these weekly updates are better than nothing.
Day 259:  I posted this picture of my sister and me after we beat Arkansas.  We were so young.  I should take better care of my skin.
Day 260:  I took Barrett to the Homecoming parade.  It was kind of surreal being there with my kid.  I remember it being such a big deal when I was in school.  It doesn't seem to be a big deal to these kids.  I feel like it was much better when I was in school.  Of course that could just be in my head.
Day 261:  We met at Brittany's house again for some bike riding fun Saturday.  These kiddos had a sweaty ball.
Day 262:  This was my favorite part of this day.  Sunday was tough.  Barrett was in a mood all day and I almost just left him at church he was so bad.  I ended up spanking him three different times and it didn't help.  So he didn't get to go to my parents house and ride his bike.  I hate using that as a punishment but he was way more upset about that than any spanking.
Day 264:  I missed day 263.  This boy is loving his bike!

Day 265:  I finally got my pumpkins and fall stuff out.  I'm loving all the festive décor and scents.  I need to get some new candles too!  I love this time of year!

17 Weeks

How Far Along: 17 weeks
Size of baby: Sweet Potato (5oz, 5.5 inches)
Maternity Clothes: Pants, yes. Some tops but mostly just my regular flowy tops.  My regular tops are getting a little short.
Gender: They say it's a girl!  I'm still in a bit of disbelief.
Movement:  None yet.  I started feeling a little movement at 17 weeks with Barrett. So hopefully it's coming soon.
Sleep: Pretty good.  Barrett is sleeping better so that's been a big help.
What I miss: Wearing anything in my closet.  That's about it.
Cravings: Nothing this week.  I've been drinking a lot more water.
Symptoms:  Just feeling large.  I had a doctors appointment Friday and my blood pressure was great and I somehow have lost 3lbs.  I'm pretty sure it's because I've been drinking a ton more water.
Best Moment this week:  Knowing my blood pressure is normal again.  Getting a big order done at work.  Things are slowing down and it makes me happy.  We've still got a lot of stuff to get done but hopefully it's on a more manageable timetable so I'm not working all the time like I feel like I have been the last few weeks.
I also realized this week that if this baby comes as early as Barrett we are already half way there. Which is exciting and terrifying.  We have so much to do this time.

The Horton House Daily: Week 37

Day 252:  I've been looking for one of these Tupperware pickle holders for years.  My parents have one and I love it.  They discontinued it for a while but they brought it back and I got one at Girl Time.  I was so excited and I'm pretty sure everyone thinks I'm a little crazy.  Which might also be true.

Day 253:  We found out this sweet baby is a GIRL!!! We are still a little in shock.  That hasn't stopped me from buying a few things.  I can't wait to meet her.  She is already so loved.

Day 254:  We went to Brittany's to watch the Alabama game.  The boys brought their bikes and rode during halftime.  I love this picture Crystal took.  My parents have the best area to ride!
Day 255:  My boys snuggled up Sunday morning.  They were so sweet I couldn't stand to wake them.  Barrett has been ending up in our bed some mornings so we can all get a little more sleep.  I think Patrick and I both secretly love it.
Day 256:   We were working on a big order at work that required me to be in the shop some and Barrett was so good.  He would ride his bike around and then come in and take a break.  He never took his helmet off or his sweatshirt and it warmed up a lot.
Day 257:  You've already seen this picture.  But it was all I had for Tuesday.
Day 258:  This was a video but I don't know how to add videos so here's a still shot.  While taking a break at the office they made a make shift "the blob" and Barrett thought it was the funniest thing ever.

That was week 37!  Lots of fun and lots of work.

16 Weeks

How Far Along: 16 weeks
Size of baby: Avacado
Maternity Clothes: Pants, yes. Tops, no. The pants are just way more comfortable.  I'm so thankful flowy is in!
Gender: Still in shock that it's a GIRL!  I'm trying not to go crazy buying stuff but it's hard.  I've bought a couple of little outfits.  Baby clothes are just so sweet I can't help it.
Movement: I haven't felt anything yet.  She was moving like crazy on the ultrasound though so hopefully it won't be too much longer until I can feel it.
Sleep: I've slept pretty good this week.  I've been so tired at night that I feel like I'm asleep before my head hits the pillow.
What I miss: I'm not missing much this week.  Still don't have much energy but at my appointment we realized my iron was low so hopefully these supplements will help me feel better soon.
Cravings: Ice and anything spicy.
Symptoms: Low energy and a little nausea.
Best Moment this week:  Finding out the gender!  We are so excited to have a sweet baby girl.  I didn't think much about all the fun a girl would be.  I just knew it was a boy so I never thought much about having a girl.  I've picked out a few new things for the nursery.  All of the big stuff will be the same but I'm adding a few girly touches.  In my head it's beautiful, I can't wait to see it come to life.  Right now just cleaning out the room would be an improvement.
And a comparison.  I feel so much bigger this time and I look so much tireder, ha!

It's a...

GIRL!!!
With Barrett we waited until the 20 week anatomy scan to find out the gender.  This time I knew we couldn't wait.  :)  We scheduled it as early as we could for September 11th.  I had a crazy busy week which turned out to be a good thing because it went by pretty fast.  We headed to our appointment Friday afternoon fully expecting them to confirm that we already knew this baby was another boy. She started the ultrasound and showed us the profile.  I said aww look he's sucking his thumb and just kept calling him a he.  She finally got to the good part and she said "its a girl!"  We were both speechless for a second.  I asked about a hundred times if she was sure.  She kept laughing and saying she was sure.  We were both in shock.  Patrick just kept saying "a girl, we're having a girl."  It was funny.  We had told everyone we just knew it was another boy. After the ultrasound we went over to see the doctor and my blood pressure was really high.  They made me lay down and rest for a few minutes and then they took it again and it was still high so they sent me for lab work.  Everything looked normal except my iron was low so I'm on an iron supplement. Hopefully it'll make me feel better.  I go back next week to be checked again. Hopefully everything will have calmed down.  We're thinking it was the stress of the week and the excitement of finding out its a girl that had it so elevated.
After the appointment we went to the gift shop.  I'll let you guess which thing Patrick picked out.
She doesn't have a name for sure yet.  Her first name will probably be Ann and her middle name will start with "M" but we're not 100% decided on her middle name and she'll probably go by both names.

The Horton House Daily: Week 36

Week 36 was a busy one.
Day 245:  The kickoff to college football.  Barrett and I watched some of the games that were on and then it was time for bed so we went and watched Toy Story for a little while.  This boy is definitely mine, he appreciates the finer things in life like watching a movie in bed.
Day 246:  We were trying to decide what we were going to eat for dinner and Patrick started taking selfies of him and Barrett, then he grabbed Ally and added her to the mix.  I laughed so hard because he tries to act like he doesn't like Ally.
Day 247:  We enjoyed a day of college football.  I worked that morning and came home in time to take a nap during the Auburn game.  For the Alabama game Barrett and I were going over to Matt's house to watch it with our crew.  At the last minute Patrick decided to go with us and it made us both so happy.
Day 248:  Barrett wore a bubble for probably (for real this time) the last time.  It makes me sad.  He sure does look cute though.  I might sneak in some long ones for the fall and winter this year.  I have a feeling we'll start trying to tackle potty training soon so it's time.
Day 249:  Ally came to the office with me.  She hasn't been to work in a long time but she wanted to go and I wasn't taking Barrett so she got to go.  She sat right at my feet the whole day.  It was really sweet.
Day 250:  I saw this rainbow on the way home and it made me so happy.

Day 251:  I spent the night helping Brittany get ready for this event.  It was a lot of fun.

15 Weeks

(You can't really tell anything in these pictures.  I promise to wear a tighter shirt next week. Although I've avoided tight stuff because I feel huge and like I'm going to suffocate.)

How Far Along: 15 weeks
Size of baby: An apple
Maternity Clothes: Jeans, yes, I can still get away with some of my elastic waist pants and shorts.  I'm still wearing my regular tops.  Most of my tops are flowy enough that they work just fine.  I've bought a few non maternity dresses this week that I hope I can wear as dresses now and tunics with leggings later in the season.
Gender: I think boy.  We've got an ultrasound scheduled Friday so hopefully we'll know for sure then.
Movement: Not yet, I can't wait though.
Sleep: Barrett has slept all night the past few nights (hopefully I didn't just jinx that).  I've felt like a new person this week.  I think it's because I've finally feeling somewhat rested.  Of course I have a really busy week this week so I'll probably be feeling like a lunatic again.
What I miss:  Having a beer watching football. (I promise I'm not an alcoholic.)  Not feeling like I'm going to throw up after I eat.
Cravings: Fresh fruit and anything spicy.
Symptoms: Exhaustion and nausea.  I've been sick again this weekend.  It's so annoying.
Best Moment this week: Watching football with friends again!  Another week down.  Looking forward to seeing the baby on the ultrasound this week.

The Horton House Daily: Week 35

Day 238:  The weather was beautiful last week.  Barrett played outside as much as he could.

Day 239:  We had book club so Patrick and Jeremy took the boys to Chuck E Cheese.  They said the boys had fun.

Day 240:  The boys slept in so Ally and I made a run for coffee and breakfast.
Day 241:  My house has been a disaster for weeks.  My dad came to watch Barrett on Wednesday and I was afraid he was going to stage an intervention.  We finally got things put back together this weekend.  It has been so nice to come home to a fairly put together house.
Day 242:  14 weeks!  I'm a lot bigger this time around.  I'm trying to embrace it.  It's not easy.  I'm ready for Fall weather so I can wear scarves and sweaters and vests.

Day 243:  He will sit in the window and play with his cars at work for a long time.  I love to just watch him.  I's so sweet.
Day 244:  I got both Barrett and his Daddy a cookie for after dinner.  This little stinker got both cookies and ate them both.

September Goals

I've slacked off on my goals big time this summer.  I thought September would be a good time to get back on board.  We've got so much to do over the next few months and I need to get busy if I'm going to get them all done.
Decorate for Fall! I bought a new fall scent for my scentsy warmer and it has me itching to put out the pumpkins.  Fall is my favorite time of year.  I usually do it Labor Day weekend and this year will be no different.  I also need to start planning our annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat hayride.

Clean out Barrett's Closet.  We'll find out what the baby is this month so I need to organizing the clothes he's outgrown and move them to the other closet or out them away.  I'm not ready to get rid of them just yet. :)  I also need to start making a list of the things we're going to need.

Move Furniture for Barrett's new Big Boy Room.  We're moving our old furniture into Barrett's room and his furniture into the nursery.  I want to go ahead and get this done so I can focus on organizing both spaces.  We're going to move him to a twin bed we thought sooner rather than later but he slept all night last night so I'm not as eager to move him now.  We will see.  I'd like to do this before Christmas so he has plenty of time to adjust before the baby comes.

Watch Football!  We're so excited for the return of college football.  I'm planning our food for the weekend and I don't plan to move from the couch all day Saturday.  I'm sure a certain toddler won't allow it but we're going to try.  He's enjoyed preseason NFL so hopefully he's excited to watch with us.

Work! Work! Work!  Most of the above will fall to the end of the month because we are busy busy at work the first two weeks of this month.  I'm excited for all the work.  And I'll be even more excited when we finish!

Find out what the BABY is!  We can't wait to find out what this sweet baby is!  I think I'll really be itching to get busy and get things done once we know!
