Cousin Funday Sunday

My mom has a big family and I loved growing up with a ton of cousins.  There was always someone to play with.  My MeMe passed away several years ago but we're all still pretty close.  We get together a few times a year and always say we should do it more.  So this year we planned a "Cousin Party".  We invited all the in town cousins (and their kids) to come just hang out.
We had the best time.  We played corn hole while the kids threw the football.  We just laughed and reminisced.

Sweet Hudson picked flowers for his Mama.

Adam and John playing corn hole.

One of the last group pictures we made was on these steps.  We knew we wanted to take a group picture and we decided this was the perfect spot.  I'm terrible at the self timer.  We laughed and laughed at this picture.

Jennifer tried to take one.  She was way more graceful than me.  The babies were over it but I can't help but smile when I look at this.
Half of the 12 total cousins.

The youngsters were making Adam laugh.

The first cousins, once removed.
I loved this day so much.  I just know my MeMe would be so proud of all of us.  Hopefully we can do it again this summer!

Weekend(s) Review

It's been over a week since I posted.  We've been staying busy.  I keep saying I don't want to be busy but I keep finding fun things to do.  Oh well...

Jackson and his mom and dad came and watched the Auburn/ Ole Miss game (Last week).  These boys are so cute together.  They wanted a front row seat for all the action
Last Sunday we went to Mass on the cemetary where my mom's parents are buried.  I love getting to be with all that side of the family.  Barrett wanted to play football with the big boys in the back yard.
There were so many times in my childhood that I wanted to play football with the boys in this backyard and they wouldn't let me.  (Sometimes they let me play, well they let me stand around and pretend to play.)
He needs another haircut.
All my parent's grandkids.
Some family pictures.
I love these boys to much!
On Tuesday we had family pictures made. I loved choosing our outfits.  Thankfully my friend Brittany let me borrow something cute to wear!  I can't wait to get all the pictures back.  She's posted a couple sneak peeks on facebook and I'm in love.  (Local people, Lacey Barnwell at LB studios is amazing.  She did our family pictures when Barrett was 6 months old and I'm kicking myself for not booking a newborn session with her when he was a baby.)
The rest of the week was spent working.  I'm so thankful for the growth of Signs of Sophie this year.  This is typically a slow time but not this year and there are no signs of it slowing down.  I love it!  Barrett had speech last week.  He's doing so great.  I need to do an update on all of his progress.
He's also started climbing.  I routinely find him on top of the table.  I'm pretty sure he would climb on the cabinets if he could get the chair up to them.
Saturday we watched a lot of football.  Barrett cheered his little heart out although i'm not sure who he really wanted to win.  Unfortunately for Patrick Auburn lost.  Barrett and I left to go watch Alabama/LSU play at our friend Matt's house.  Barrett was so good.  He stayed up way past his bedtime and was still so pleasant.  He played with his cars and teased the dog.
Here he is climbing on the cooler to keep Matt company.  It was a nailbiter of a game and I thought Matt was going to have a heart attack.  Somehow we pulled out a victory in overtime.  It was a really good game...and I'm really glad we won!
Sunday we celebrated Cruz's second birthday with Mickey Mouse himself.  Barrett was so upset when Mickey showed up.  He was so scared and cried and cried.  It surprised me because he did fine when we met the mouse this summer.  He was not a fan this time.  Makes me really excited for our visit with Santa this year.  I'm pretty sure it will be a disaster.
We're geared up for another busy week at work and another big game this week!  Only four more days until the weekend!

Weekend Rewind

Patrick was off all weekend and it was amazing.  We were so excited to get to spend 4 whole days with him.  I had to work Friday so Patrick was on baby duty.  Of course Barrett took two really good naps for his daddy.  Uncle John and I went to Mass for All Saints Day and then we met Patrick and Barrett and went to dinner.  We had a really fun night with John, we missed Hope she had to travel for work.  They are moving into their new home this weekend and we are so excited for them.
Saturday, Patrick invited some friends from work over to watch the Auburn game.  He was so nervous for the game, although I'm not really sure why considering Arkansas has only won like 2 games all season.  It was fun to meet some of the guys he talks about and their wives and kids.  Barrett was so good and I think he enjoyed having some friends to play with.  Auburn won which makes for a good football party.
(As you can see I took zero pictures Friday and Saturday)
Sunday we had Mass on the cemetery where my mom's parents are buried.  It's one of the few times a year we get to see my mom's family because there are so many of us.  It was Barrett's first trip to the cemetery. Which sounds really morbid but I promise it's not.  After we all gather at my uncles house (was formerly my grandmothers) and eat soup and chili.  I made broccoli and cheese soup and it was terrible.  I didn't have flour and it turns out that's a pretty important ingredient and then it got scorched on the bottom.  It was just a mess.  Oh well.  I guess the effort counts.
Terrible picture of us (not the photographers fault).  I was trying to make Barrett laugh.
I wish I could recreate my really good hair day from last week.

John and Hope.

We stayed there till almost dark and the headed home.  Barrett didn't get a real afternoon nap so he went to bed early.  Patrick and I crawled in bed at the late hour of 8:15.  I knew how early it was but Patrick got all settled and then looked at the clock and realized how early it was.  I wasn't complaining because I knew the Monday morning wake up call was going to be earlier than I wanted.
