Mardi Gras Party

Last Friday was the 16th Annual Mardi Gras Party at our church.  You can check out last years HERE.  We had a ball.  Patrick actually got to go with me, he had head home early but I was still glad he got to be there.
Hope & John, Patrick & Me, Ryan & Natalie and Mark. I'm so excited for Ryan & Natalie's wedding in April.

Grown-ups :)

Some of our table.

Love this guy.
Babo & Papa and Me & Mark.  Mark's taking a Social Dance class at Alabama, so we were trying to be all "Dancing with the Stars".  I felt like Cheryl Burke when I'm pretty sure I looked more like Kate Gosslin. Mark was definitely channeling Maks. It was fun none the less.

Ryan showing off his signature move, the broken ankle.

John & Hope.  It was their first Mard Gras party.  I'm pretty sure they had fun!
John's friend Zac, Mark and John.  These boys are so funny.  I can't believe how grown up they are.  Seems like just yesterday they were terrorizing the neighborhood on golf carts. {Sigh}

It was a fun night spent with some of my favorite people.  I missed the girls (Kristen, Liz and Amy) but seeing the guys break out some moves like jagger was pretty priceless.

15th Annual Mardi Gras Party

Friday night was the 15th Annual Mardi Gras Party at our church.  I've been attending for the last 5 years (I think) and it's always such a fun time.  (You can read about last years here.)
My best friend (and former roommate at UA) Kristen went with me.  It was her first Mardi Gras party.  I think she had fun!

My sister and me.

Sweet Ally!

Two of my favorite people.  It's weird because people have thought my sister and I were twins for the better part of our adult lives.  Like they get us confused out in public.  We don't really think we look that much a like but others do.  Well when Kristen and I lived in the dorm freshmen year, the girl that worked in the store at the dorm asked us all the time if we were twins, or sisters.  Last night people kept getting us confused.  I think it's out hair.  It's a very similar color and style.

She was so excited about her ticket.

My cousin got to come I was so excited.  He was my dance partner since his girlfriend in currently in NYC working on her Masters degree!  We had a blast!

Amy came when she got off work!

Sisters!
Me and my Daddy.

I love this shot.  We had a ball!

Mardi Gras Party

Every year the ladies group at church throws an awesome Mardi Gras party.  My mom and her good friend are in charge of it.  They do an amazing job.  Now I've never been to Mardi Gras but I have been to New Orleans and they really create an atmosphere in our parsh hall that you are on Burbon Street.  It is so much fun and they always have such amazing food.  There's a DJ (the same Dj we had at our wedding) so everyone just dances the night away!  My sister was able to go this year since she is 21 and she was so excited!  I was too!!!
The food table
Mom, DJ Mike Shell, and Mary (mom's friend that does all planning)
Amy & Me with our Who Dat? Saints cups!
Me and Sister.
My sweet parents
The dance floor and some decorations.
We draw a King and Queen each year.  This is the King and Queen this year!

I just love all the decorations.   They borrow wrought iron tables and chairs for the night.  I always looks so good!  With the Season of Lent starting tomorrow I've been thinking about what I'm going to give up.  I'm thinking it's going to be french fries!  I love fries so much...It's going to be hard.
