Friday Favorites: Its SUMMER!!!

It's officially summer in Alabama!  This week the temps are approaching 90 and the humidity has made its presence known.  We are so ready, even though our summers don't look much different that the other seasons as far as our daily routine. Our Mother's Day Out program goes through the summer (thank goodness!) and I'm still working but we will try to sneak in as many trips as we can to the splash pad, the lake and any pool our friends invite us. So to help kick off summer I thought I'd share some of my summer favorites!

First up

These sandals!

I'm loving that Birkenstocks are back in style.  Last summer I wore my vintage ones circa 2000 (I can't believe that was 16 years ago, blows my mind) and I loved them so much I decided to look for a more fun pair.  I love these gold ones
  they are so comfortable.

I don't know about you but I hate washing my hair.

This Dry Shampoo

is life changing.  I wash my hair 2 times a week.  I use this on the days I don't wash and I just style as I normally would.  I know I'm like the last person on earth to figure this out but just incase you're in the dark like I was go buy this, you won't be disappointed.

(sorry for the selfie but this is my hair this morning and I haven't washed it since Monday, that's 4 days of sleeping 10-15 minutes later. May not seem like much but it is to me)

We're planning on taking advantage of Patrick's 3 day weekends and spending some time at the lake. I love this place and it is so fun getting to take my kids now.  Because our house as water all the way around it, the rule is you don't leave the deck without wearing your life jacket.  Barrett uses his trusty  Puddle Jumper .  This thing is way better than the life jackets we wore as kids.

This is the one we have and Barrett never complains about wearing it.  He is my shy timid kid but he's so comfortable in the water with this on.


I've gone a little crazy already with clothes for the kids.  They have several matching outfits and nicer stuff but I still needed some everyday play clothes.  So I made this cute pineapple bubble for AveryAnn.  It turned out so stinking cute.

Of course I went to order more and they are sold out of the blanks.

And finally my guilty pleasure of the summer...

The Bachelorette!  (and Big Brother but it hasn't started yet).

This year we made it interesting and all filled out a bracket.  I'm a tiny bit competitive so this was right up my alley.

In an effort to blog more I'm sharing some of my favorite things this week.

Norvell Spray Tan

Obviously, this isn't me but I love the results from this product.  I know I've mentioned a good friend of mine owns a local salon and I'm hooked on the spray tan.  Its such an easy and effective process.  It really is that dramatic in minutes.  We've been going in groups for a fun girls night.  I love being sprayed by a person versus a booth (although I've never done the booth so that's probably not a fair statement).  And maybe I'm shallow but I just love having a little color on my skin.  
Talenti Gelato I picked this up on a whim the other day at the store.  I love sea salt and caramel and this did not disappoint.  I'm going to try some different flavors because Patrick really liked it but he's not a huge fan of sea salt and caramel.
Kindle Paperwhite I've been holding out on getting an electronic reader for a while now because I'm a big fan of an actual book.  But while we were in Mexico a couple girls had kindles and I loved that they could bring several books for the same weight in their luggage (which is a big deal when traveling as a woman).  I've already ready 3 or 4 books this year since I got this thing for Christmas.  It's so easy to throw in my purse and read on the go.  
Clarisonic Mia This was another of my Christmas presents (Patrick did so good this year).  Again while we were in Mexico a couple girls had one and they raved about them.  I've been using mine for almost a month and I think my skin looks better and it definitely feels better.  It's also made me wash my face more because it's so fun.  I've always taken my makeup off every night but I didn't always wash my face.  Now that I do I can can really tell a difference.  Now I need to find a miracle product for these wrinkles that are creeping up.
Blanket Scarves and Booties I've posted these before but I'm still loving them so much.  I love how warm and fluffy the blanket scarves are and those booties are so comfortable and versatile.  I wear them with everything,  My uniform this season is jeans, a tunic, a blanket scarf  and booties.  I love that it's still comfortable when I'm chasing a two year old but I still look put together.
So there you have it.  My current Friday Favorites, posted on Saturday.  Better late than never I guess.  Now to snuggle my sick boy.  I'm ready for sunshine and warm weather.

Friday Favorites

So much for blogging more than once a week.  Here are a few of my favorites this week.

Spray  Tan!

I got my first one this week and I love it.  I needed a little color before my trip and my friend Jessica owns a salon so she sprayed my last night.  I just love it.  I had two people ask me today if I had a good trip because I was so tan they thought I just got back.  I will definitely be doing it again.  If you're local send me message and I'll let you know where.  a little off subject but I love how skinny I look in that mirror.

Ok this isn't necessarily a favorite but the gypsy circus is in town and there was a camel just hanging out on the side of the highway today.  Not everyday you see that.

I heard a weird noise today and walked into the kitchen to find this.  Barrett had dumped the whole box of Fruit Loops on the table and floor. 
I saw these pjs at target this week and I think I need them.  
And for my absolute favorite of the week...I'm headed to 4 days of fun in the sun.  I'm so excited to sleep late and lounge around.  I already miss my boys but I'm sure they're doing great!

Friday Favorites

Is it to late for a Friday Favorites post?  I think not.  I want to start posting more than once a week...I don't think it's going to happen but a girl can dream...

These new booties are an absolute favorite this week.  I got them last Sunday and I've worn them 4 days this week.  They are so comfortable and I feel like they go with everything.  (I ordered them from Amazon but they are Jessica Simpson).

I ordered this knock-off  Zara blanket scarf and I can't wait until it gets here.  It's been warm here this week but I can't wait to wear it all winter.  

This time next week I'll be here!!! I'm taking a little 30th birthday girls trip.  I'm so excited for some fun in the sun.  I'm excited to sleep late 4 days in a row.  I'm really nervous about leaving Barrett but Patrick has taken off work and they are going to get to spend so much time together, it'll be fun!  This is the longest I've ever left him and the first time I've left them both overnight.  

Plus flying internationally right now is a bit nerve racking with all the talk of ebola.  I know we're going to have a blast but I'm sure I'll be ready to see my boys Tuesday!!

We went to the Fall Carnival tonight to support the elementary school.  I made several signs for the event.  Unfortunately the weather was yucky.  We didn't stay long since it started lightning.
