October Goals

It's October.  I'm not sure where September went but  it's gone and we're all in the Fall spirit around here.
I didn't do great with my September goals.  This only two things that were really important were the two things I didn't even attempt to do. I got the house decorated and I love it.  We've watched a lot of football.  I've worked a lot and we found out the baby is a girl. So I'm moving Clean Barrett's closet and Move furniture to October.

Clean Out Barrett's Closet.  Now that I know this baby is a girl I've got to go through Barrett's stuff and see what I can use for this baby and what I need to get rid of.  I'm not sure if this is our last or not so I'm not ready to let go of everything.  I'll probably just let my friends buy or borrow stuff so I can get it back if we have another boy one day.  Yes I'm crazy.
Move Furniture.  We need to move Barrett's new furniture in his room and the nursery furniture to the new nursery.  Our goal is to have this done by Halloween when we have everyone over to trick-or-treat.
Go on a Girls Trip.  Ok I cheated again on this one because we've had a beach trip planned for a couple of months but I'm so looking forward to 3 days away with girlfriends to relax and recharge before the hustle and bustle of the holidays sets in.
Host Halloween Hayride.  Over the last few years we've been hosting all of our friends at our house on Halloween night to trick-or-treat and hang out.  I'm so excited its on a Saturday this year.  We've got a hayride planned and some other fun things.  I've never been a huge fan of Halloween but it's becoming one of my favorite nights of the year.
Make a "To Do Before Baby" List.  I feel like we've got so much to do before this baby gets here.  So I need to get organized and get busy.  The time is going by so much quicker this time too so I'm starting to panic.  I know it'll all get done and if it doesn't not a big deal but I'd at least like for her to have a place to sleep and for Barrett to have a place to sleep.

September Goals

I've slacked off on my goals big time this summer.  I thought September would be a good time to get back on board.  We've got so much to do over the next few months and I need to get busy if I'm going to get them all done.
Decorate for Fall! I bought a new fall scent for my scentsy warmer and it has me itching to put out the pumpkins.  Fall is my favorite time of year.  I usually do it Labor Day weekend and this year will be no different.  I also need to start planning our annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat hayride.

Clean out Barrett's Closet.  We'll find out what the baby is this month so I need to organizing the clothes he's outgrown and move them to the other closet or out them away.  I'm not ready to get rid of them just yet. :)  I also need to start making a list of the things we're going to need.

Move Furniture for Barrett's new Big Boy Room.  We're moving our old furniture into Barrett's room and his furniture into the nursery.  I want to go ahead and get this done so I can focus on organizing both spaces.  We're going to move him to a twin bed we thought sooner rather than later but he slept all night last night so I'm not as eager to move him now.  We will see.  I'd like to do this before Christmas so he has plenty of time to adjust before the baby comes.

Watch Football!  We're so excited for the return of college football.  I'm planning our food for the weekend and I don't plan to move from the couch all day Saturday.  I'm sure a certain toddler won't allow it but we're going to try.  He's enjoyed preseason NFL so hopefully he's excited to watch with us.

Work! Work! Work!  Most of the above will fall to the end of the month because we are busy busy at work the first two weeks of this month.  I'm excited for all the work.  And I'll be even more excited when we finish!

Find out what the BABY is!  We can't wait to find out what this sweet baby is!  I think I'll really be itching to get busy and get things done once we know!

June Goals

It's been a couple of months since I posted monthly goals.  Things got crazy around here for a little while (and I don't even remember what we were doing).  I loved having goals but I was bad at keeping up with them.  I'm back on the wagon so to speak and looking forward to this month. (even though it's already the 8th)
Lazy Saturdays!
Since Patrick is home on the weekends for the time being I'm trying not to overbook us.  So far we've done some really fun things and I've loved having the freedom to just hang out.
Garth Brooks!
We're going to see Garth again this weekend with a group of friends and I'm so looking forward to it  I'm excited to wear a cute dress and hang out without the kids!
Clean out the garage!
Since the big dogs are gone we're trying to get everything cleaned out so I can park in there.  I'm so excited to park in a garage for the first time.  I know it'll great with the heat of the summer pretty much here.
Organize Guest Room!
When we got new furniture the guest room once again became a disaster area.  I need to go through  all the stuff and donate and consign some things and find a place for everything else.
Swim & Sun!
My goal is to go swimming once a week somewhere.  Luckily we have friends that have a pool so we've been able to achieve this!  I just want to have fun this summer.  Barrett is at a fun age and I won't say easy but the easiest he's been in a while so we're trying to soak it in!

April Goals

Another month has passed.  I didn't do great with my goals this month.  I'm not happy with my lack of progress but I did a lot more socializing this month than I normally do so that's not necessarily a bad thing.
(Lets ignore the fact that I didn't crop this screen shot from my phone. K?)
I've done pretty good keeping up with my devotionals.  I've enjoyed that quiet time in the morning.  Patrick and I celebrated our 7th anniversary with dinner out.  I didn't get the pantry cleaned out.  We cleaned out the guest room enough to move the furniture from our room in.  Now its a disaster again.  I haven't really spent less time on facebook.  Patrick is on second shift so I spend a lot of time alone at night so I find myself scrolling through facebook several times in the evening.  So there are still a few things to work on but overall not a terrible month.
Clean out Pantry!  I've got to clean out and re-organize the pantry because Barrett can open the door now and I've got to move all the candy and stuff I don't want him to have up higher.  Play Outside!  The weather is finally beautiful out!  We've been trying to hit the park several times a week.  I want to start playing outside in the afternoons when Barrett wakes up from his nap.  He loves being outside.  Take Better Care of ME!  I'm not even talking losing weight (although I need to do that too).  I've been sick so many times this year and I think its a result of not taking care of myself.  I need to start eating better and exercising and maybe take some vitamins and make sure I'm getting enough sleep.  Clean Up Outside.  I need to clean up the deck and the yard and get it ready for us to enjoy.  Have another "NO SPEND" Month.  I've bought several things this month to get my wardrobe ready for spring and add in Easter stuff, I need a no spend month to recover.  I did it a few months ago and I really liked it.  So I'm going to try it again.  Work on Getting all of our Photos Organized.  I'm so behind on photos.  I should have been working on this each night while Patricks been working but I haven't.  I'm hoping to start to get caught up this month.
So, there's my monthly goals.  Hopefully I can knock them out this month.

March Goals

It's March 1st.  It's been a year since my brother's wedding.  I seriously can't believe a whole year has passed.  So Happy Anniversary to them.
Now for my goals...
The whole month of February was a blur.  It did not go as planned and while we had some fun, overall it kind of sucked.  I feel like I did pretty good on my goals though.
I cleaned out my closet,  I have a huge bag of stuff to donate and I have some things I'm going to try out at consignment.
My sister in law got me this abundant life devotional and I've really been enjoying it.  I also got the "little black book" for Lent from church and I've enjoyed it too.  I'm trying to carve out 15-30 minutes each morning before Barrett wakes up to read and pray and learn.  My sister also sent me a link to another devotional that I haven't had a chance to check out but I plan on doing that soon too.
Cooking more and being more patient were two of my less successful goals.  I hate to cook.  I did go to the store tonight and got groceries to cook this week.  Hopefully I can keep it up.
Patrick and I got to have a date night to see a movie and dinner.  It was much needed and we had the best time.  Hopefully we'll get to sneak another one in this month for our anniversary.

March Goals
1)  Continue making time for quiet time and using my devotionals.  I'm really loving this time.  Our schedule was off last week so I'm hoping to get back in a good routine!
2)  Celebrate our 7th Anniversary.  I can't believe we've been married 7 years.  Hopefully we'll get to do something fun to celebrate!
3)  Clean out the pantry, again.  I guess this will be on my list every 3 months because I can't keep that thing clean to save my life.
4)  Clean out the guest room.  We've got to make room for our new bedroom furniture.  We're giving our furniture to Barrett for when its time to move to a big boy room.  So we've got to clean out the guest room to make room for our current furniture.  I'm excited for a fresh new bedroom but I'm not looking forward to all the cleaning out.
5)  Spend less time on facebook and more time reading.  I've deleted facebook off my phone because it had become such a time suck.  I really enjoy reading and I want to spend more time doing that!

We have such a busy few weeks at work right now.  I'll probably be working more hours than normal but I think I can get it all done!

February Goals

My goals this month were thrown out the window when all the sickness started taking over.  It has been one thing after another and we're all feeling crummy.  I did manage to get my Christmas decorations down but that really is about it.
I have been praying more.  Making it a point to pray every night before bed.  I've started to write in a prayer journal and I've felt like it really holds me more accountable.  I also started ready "Praying Circles around your Family" (I think that's the name of it.  It's on my kindle I'll have to check when I get home) It's pretty powerful.
I have not cooked more nor did I clean out my closet.  I have been a little more patient with Barrett (but it's probably because he's been sick.)  I'm working on it though.
I did get my Christmas decorations down.  So I'm considering this month a victory.  We've also battled the flu and colds and sinus infections.  It's been a doozy of a month.
I didn't write a pretty card for February.  I know you're sad.  It's basically going to be all the things I missed in January.
So for February I'm going to...
Clean out my closet.
Find a devotional and use it.
Cook More.
Be Patient.
Have a Date Night.
I've also put myself of a spending freeze.  I've spent so much money {cough} on myself {cough} I need to cool it!  I've done good so far. You know all 2 days.

I think I can handle this.  Hopefully we wont be sick all month!

January Goals

I'm back to setting my monthly goals.  I didn't set any for December.  I tried to focus on celebrating the true meaning of the season with my family.  At times I failed miserably but overall I think we had a good month.  As much as I've loved the holidays, I'm ready for things to get back to normal around here.  I crave routine.  I just function more efficiently with a routine.
January Goals
1)  Pray more intentionally; be more intentional.
I really want to start some sort of devotional and be more intentional with my time with the Lord.  I waste so much time it's embarrassing.  I want to use my time wisely.  I want to be a good wife, mom and friend.
2)  Cook More.
I think this has been a goal every month.  Now that Patrick is back on day shift and we are getting back to a routine I want to cook 4-5 nights a week.  I plan to cook at least one new recipe each week to hopefully add some new things to the rotation.
3)  Clean out my closet.
If I haven't worn it in the last year, it needs to go.  This is going to be hard because I am a clothes hoarder.  I have tons of shoes and clothes that just don't work for me now that I need to donate.
4)  Be more patient with Barrett and the "Terrible Twos".
This is probably going to be a yearly goal.  I'm hoping getting back to a routine helps him a little too.  I know he's just becoming more aware and independent.  I want to mother him in a way that builds him up.  I want to be firm but loving.  I want him to know I am in charge but I'm also here for him that he can talk to me about anything.
5) Take down the Christmas decorations & organize.
Don't laugh.  I realize most of you already have yours down.  I always struggle to take down my stuff in a timely manner.  I just love all the little lights so much.  It's been so cold and dreary here lately that I just want to sit a look at the lights.  I should be ashamed to admit that there have been several years I might not have gotten my tree down before February.  I also need to better organize everything and try to come up with a better storage system for all the seasonal decorations I have.
So there you have it.  My goals for January.

December Goals

I did okay on my November goals.
1) Finish Christmas Shopping.  I didn't even come close to finishing.  Oh well, it'll get done.  I'm not sweating it.  2)  Plan Barrett's birthday playdate.  I've got everything planned.  It's going to be super low key and relaxed.  I'm excited about it!  3) Have Family Pictures made.  We did this and I'm so in love with how they turned out!  As soon as I get our Christmas cards ordered and in the mail I'll share them with you.  They are beautiful!  4) Order Christmas Cards.  I haven't done this yet.  I've designed them, just have to order them!  5) Decorate for Christmas & 6) Make Advent Calendar, I'm combining these because I finished them both tonight.  I finally decorated our tree and added the cards to the advent calendar.  We are ready for the season!

I didn't write out my December goals because I just want to enjoy the season.  I really want to soak it up.  Barrett is really noticing everything this year and it makes me so excited. I have a few things that I want to do, Go see Santa, buy a gift for the angel tree at our church, drive around and look at lights are just a few of them.  I know the years of having small kids is only a short season and I want to soak up every single moment.
