Blue Devil Homecoming Week

We loaded up and headed to the Homecoming Parade Thursday evening.  It was so much fun!  They throw so much candy and it's all the good candy, not that my kids needed any of it.

Patrick doesn't get to do a lot of things with us but he got to go to this and had so much fun!

Friday night we went to the game.  It was fun, we left right after halftime because the kids were getting restless.  

Saturday morning we had a flag football game.  John, Hope, Madelyn and Brooks came to cheer us on.

That afternoon we did a demo with John and Hope and Rainbow.  We really liked the system but could not commit to the cost/doing the demos.  Well Barrett was all in on the demo.  He has brought up several times how we should have bought it and he brought me this "check" one day to go buy it. We have laughed and laughed about his love for the rainbow.

I go to the bank everyday for my job.  One of the tellers there is just the sweetest person.  She got promoted so I don't get to see her now but before she left she made sure to give my kids (that she's never met) these sweet Halloween baskets.  

Fall Festival, Rocket Football, Etc.

For our October BHAM Ladies who Lunch meeting we went to Birmingham Breadworks.  I was so yummy!  I had the pizza and a salad and it did not disappoint.

She was so excited to wear her cheerleading outfit that I got for $2 at the consignment sale.

We finally got to go to a Gardendale game.  

My kids love Uncle Clay.  It really is the sweetest.

That Sunday we had the Fall festival at Barrett's school.  We did the Cake Walk again.  I had big plans to make a tunnel out of balloons.  The theme was "Alice in Wonderland".  It didn't turn out exactly how I was envisioning but it was still really cute!

Daddy's girl.  This guy was a trooper!  He had to work a football game Saturday that got delayed due to weather and he didn't get home until 3:00am.  My parents kept the kids so they could take them to Sunday school and church Sunday morning and then bring them to the festival.  Well, I made a mistake with one of the signs I printed and needed someone to bring it to me from Gardendale and my dad was going to bring it but my grandmother fell and he had to go get her and take her to the emergency room.  So Patrick got my sign and brought me a ladder so I could hang the balloons.  Then he met my mom and took the kids all aroudn the festival.  I realize these are just basic "dad" things but it really meant a lot to me.  He works so hard for us so I try ot handle everything that I can with the kids and school stuff.

I finally read a book.  I'd heard so much hype about this one but it was just ok to me.  It was good and an easy read but I wasn't blown away.

Bring on Fall

I got to keep Jonah one afternoon and he tricked me into rocking him and holding him for his nap.  I wasn't sad about it.

My kids get so excited when I come home from the consignment sale every year.  She was so excited about this $2 nightgown.

Also excited about this giant flash light Grampy had.

I wanted a pair of snakeskin booties from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale but I couldn't pull the trigger.  Well I'm glad I waited because I found these cuties for half the sale price of the others!  I've already worn them about 100 times.

My sister got free tickets to a local production of Legally Blonde!  It was so good! We had the best time and laughed so much!

One of my best friends had a beautiful baby girl while Barrett was sick and I finally got to meet her! She is so dreamy! 

Each grade level donates a basket for the Silent Auction at the Fall Festival and this was ours.  It was so good!  I was so proud of our room moms for everything they contributed!

They said they wanted to "hike" after a football game.  This is about as far as we made it before we called it quits because someone was crying.

Ava needed some driving miles for drivers ed so I let her drive my car home from church.  She did great!

Barrett lost his second tooth.  He is so proud and thinks he's so big!

Hello September!

We kicked off College Football season at the Kreider's house!

Not sure how much longer I can pull off the matching outfits.  Barrett was actually just mad I made him take a picture not that they matched so maybe I've got a little more time.

I love how much she loves babies!  It really is the sweetest thing and makes me sad she'll probably never get to be a big sister because she would be a great one!

She had her very first dance class!

She walked right in a sat down with her class.  I wish I could have been a fly on the wall!

I was helping host a baby shower and the theme was "Taco 'bout a Baby" I made a balloon cactus.  I was pretty proud of it!

On the 5th day of school Barrett came home with a 103 degree temperature.  I thought for sure it was strep.  We went to the doctor the next day and it was croup.  We've never had croup but it was a doozy.  He actually felt better and was fever free in just 48 hours.  We went to his flag football game on Saturday to watch because he'd missed one game already.  By Saturday night he was running a fever again.  This was a really busy weekend.  Saturday night we had an engagement party for my cousin, Sunday was supposed to be his first day of PSR (Sunday School) and I was hosting the baby shower.  I also had an event at school Monday morning that I had to get food for. I did not have time for a sick kid.

These were the centerpieces my dad and I came up with from stuff from the yard.  We were really proud.

He was sick for another 4 days.  We went back to the doctor.  He ran a fever that got as high as 105.  It was crazy.  He missed 7 of the first 12 days of school!  His first day back was his first spelling test! And he aced it!!

Thankfully after the first two weeks of September things slowed down.

First Day of School

We didn't start school until August 27th this year.  The long summer was so nice but we were all ready for routine by the time the first day rolled around.

Barrett's first day of First Grade!  He was so excited! His best friend Jackson is in his class again!

He is the sweetest child.  He does not like change. He was really excited for first grade but a little nervous too.  I had to be at school early to set up for the Boo Hoo breakfast.  He helped me set everything up.  He was begging to go to his classroom.  I took him and he was fine.  He sat down at his table and I could tell he was about to cry.  I gave him another hug and told him to have a good day and headed back to the lunchroom.  Then I had to comfort all the Kindergarten mama's and I was crying with them. It was actually comical.

Miss Priss had her first day of 3K on the same day.  

She was so excited but perked up when I took her picture in front of the fountain.  She started going full days this year and she is loving it.

She actually gets mad when we pick her up right after naptime and she doesn't get to play with the baby dolls.

Our cute table for the Boo Hoo Breakfast.  I'm the Hospitality Chairperson for the PTA this year.  I've really enjoyed getting to be involved.  I feel like this is right up my alley.
