Peanut Butter Cup

Yes, that's a penut butter cup the size of a cupcake.  I got it at a candy store in Pier Park.
I'm not going to lie, it was a little too much.

Sad-erDay & Sunday

Saturday was our last day at the beach and we were determined to soak in every minute of it.
I got up early and headed to Thomas' Doughnuts for some breakfast treats.  I couldn't decide and I really wanted a pink box so I ordered a dozen.
We had better luck Saturday with annoying people on the beach.  Most people rent Saturday to Saturday so there were a lot of people leaving so we enjoyed a quiet morning on the beach.

I took this of our building from the pool area.  I thought it looked cool. Probably because I'm a dork!

For lunch we headed to Spinnaker for a Paradise Cheeseburger.  It was delicious.  Carla and I walked since it was right on the beach.  It was a little bit further than I remembered so we were glad we had a ride back.

I was rocking the beach hair. Ha.

I'm not really sure what I said but apparently it was funny.  I may be biased but I think Patrick has such a pretty smile.  I'm really hoping our kids get is teeth (He's never had braces!)

I was taking pictures of the water.  Patrick thought I was taking pictures of his feet.  I wasn't but then he stuck his monkey toes in this shot.

We were not all that hungry so we went to this German place and had some really bad beer and an awesome pretzel.

After the German place we went to The Back Porch for oysters, smoked tuna dip and a Bacardi bucket.
Patrick tried his first raw oyster.  He did not enjoy it.

Carla enjoyed her Barcardi bucket.

Finally we made it to Tootsie's.  The original Tootsie's is in Nashville.  We tried to go when I was there a few years ago but my sister wasn't 21 yet so we didn't get to.  We had a blast.  The band was pretty good and we enjoyed singing and dancing like we were 21 again without a care in the world.

Then it was time to head home.  I didn't want to leave Tootsie's because I knew it meant vacation was really over.  We had the best time and really weren't ready for it to end. But all good things must end.
Sunday morning we woke up and started packing.  We got the car loaded up and sat on the balcony taking in the last few minutes.  I savored the moment with my chocolate covered rice crispy treat on a stick.  It made leaving a little easier.

We were so excited to get home to Ally Bama but that was the only thing.

Preciousness

How could you not miss this face?
She's so sweet and so glad we're home.
Day 178

Friday Funday

We woke up Friday ready for a day at the beach.  It was a little cloudy but that didn't stop us.  We headed out to our spot and got settled.  Then some genius gave the kid next to us a whistle.  The child continued to blow the whistle for the next ten minutes.  We got a little break when he dropped it in the sand but then the dad cleaned it off for him to continue blowing it.  Now I'm not trying to sound like I hate kids but the whistle was really annoying.  It would have been annoying if it was my own kid.  Finally another man at the tent took the whistle away from the child.  He was our hero. It eventually started to sprinkle and we could see lighting so we decided to head in for lunch.
The boys at Pineapple Willy's

The girls.  I couldn't open my eyes to save my life.

After lunch we headed back to the beach and enjoyed the afternoon.  I took my chair right to the ewater and read all afternoon.  We decided we have a Shrimp Boil for dinner so the boys headed out to get some shrimp while Carla and I enjoyed the sunset.  I loved playing with my camera.

Playing Words with Friends.  Carla hadn't played before so we got her hooked.  We looked like dorks on the beach playing with our phones.

I loved the sunset shots.

This is the view from the back side of the condo.

Patrick got burned.  We had done so good all week putting on sunscreen but Friday he was a slacker and didn't put any on.

Doesn't that look yummy!

The boys were excited to eat.  It was all so yummy.
We ended the night sitting on the balcony watching fireworks.

Father's Day 2011

This child melts my heart.  He loves Ally so much.  As you can tell by the look on her face, she tolerates him.
We had a great Father's day celebrating the Dad's in our family.  I've always been a Daddy's girl.  I love spending time with him no matter the day.

Porter and Harper helped me find the perfect spot for a photo session with their Daddy and Grandaddy.  Aren't they cute!

Daddy with his grandbabies.  We were missing Drew.  The kids weren't real excited about having their picture made.

Dad with his babies.  There really aren't any words to describe this photo.

My brother an his babies.  They were definitely over the photos by now.

I found this birds nest with an egg in it just sitting in a rocking chair on the porch.

We ended the afternoon with a friendly game of UNO.  I love that I can still sit with my brothers and sister and still play card games.  The kids are old enough to play too which makes it that much more fun.
After we left my parents we headed to see Patrick's Dad and mom.  We had a nice time there too.

Certificate of Achievement

Today I received my certificate for completing my first year of bootcamp.  I think I'm going to frame it!  Carla said she was going to hang hers on the refrigerator so she'd see it everytime she got a snack.  That's a pretty good idea too!

Kitchen Curtains

My best friend Kristen was busy last week worning on my new valances and cafe curtains for the kitchen.  I love how they turned out.  They are so fun and cheerful compared to what was there.  I need to get some pink flowers for my blue mason jar.

Sweet Treats

Since we spent most of the morning inside we decided to venture out this afternoon.  We headed to pier park.  We did a little shopping and ended the afternoon with ice cream.  Tony and Carla arrrived just before 10 and we've been having a ball!

Words about Wednesday!

Yesterday we enjoyed another day on the beach!  I've read three books in three days and I could not be more happy about it!
Our view from the balcony at lunch time.  The water has cleared up a lot since the first day so we were able to get in yesterday.  It's pretty rough. There have been red flags out.  I tried to get out on a float but kept sliding off because of the sunscreen I'd put on.  It was actually pretty funny.  I could barely swim I was laughing so hard at myself.  I'm pretty sure the people around me thought I was mental or drunk.

For dinner we headed to the Captain's Table.  It's a family favorite.  I hadn't been in a few years so I was really excited.  We had to wait about an hour for a table so we walked around the marina and watched the sunset.  We ended up just sitting at the bar and I'm glad we did.  The bartenders were super friendly and a lot of fun to talk to.  We watched them shuck oysters right in front of us.  We really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere.

I had the grilled shrimp with fried okra.  It was the best grilled shrimp I've ever had.  Patrick had fried shrimp he agreed it was the best shrimp he'd had too.

I've developed some sort of heat rash or sun poisoning on my chest and arms so I think we're gonna hang out inside today. Maybe do a little shopping not sure.

Toes in the Water

Patrick and I are enjoying the beach this week.  We've got some wonderful people watching our home and dogs so we can relax for the week.  We are blessed!
We headed down Sunday night after we finished our Father's Day festivities!  My grandmother let us use her condo and we are so thankful.  She has a wonderful place right on the beach.  You can see water from every room it's amazing!  (It's currently on the market if you or anyone you know is looking to invest in some ocean front property let me know) The beach is my second favorite place to relax, it would probably be first if the lake wasn't so close!

This is our luggage.  Yes for two people.  Like I said I tend to over pack.  I was embarrassed when we unloaded and I saw just how much stuff I brought!

We enjoyed mimosas on the balcony for breakfast!

I'd been checking the webcam all last week and it looked like there was no one on the beaches.  Well there was no shortage of people yesterday!  The water is a little slimy but not to bad!

I finished the book I started and got bored so I played with my phone taking random pictures.  This would be one of those!

We went to dinner last night at one of my favorite spots, Shuckums.  I've been going there since before my sister was born.  (Maybe even before I was born).  They're know for oysters.  I had half a dozen to start with and made Patrick try one.  He'd never eaten them before.  We got them baked so they weren't quite as gross looking as the raw ones.  He enjoyed it and actually ate two!

I just had grilled shrimp for my dinner and it was pretty good. I love their fries too so I had to have some!  It was all really good!  After dinner we just drove around checking out all the sights!
We decided the first day was a success.  We didn't get burned and we ate some seafood!
(Random note:  I was putting on sunscreen yesterday, Coppertone 50 sport block, when I was finished I noticed all the polish on my nails was coming off.  It looked like I'd just poured nail polish remover on them but not tried to rub it off.  It was so weird.
Anyone else ever had that problem?)
