Weekend Review

I didn't realize it'd been so long since I last posted.  Patrick is on second shift which means the days get away from me.  We've been having a lot of fun.  Second shift is getting easier the older Barrett gets.  It's actually worked out really well this time.  Patrick keeps Barrett home three days a week and they get to spend the morning together and Barrett takes a nap and then Patrick brings him to my work on his way to work.  I'm able to get more hours in at work and get a little break.  Then Barrett and I get to do fun stuff in the afternoons since we don't have to rush home to take a nap.
We've been trying to make the most of our afternoons.  We've played outside a lot.
I just love these pictures of him playing on the sidewalk.  He's just so cute.  I feel like he's grown so much these past few weeks.  He's getting heavy if I hold him to long.  All of his clothes are getting to small and some days he's eating me out of house and home.
One afternoon we were going to go to the splash pad but when we got there it looked like it was going to storm so we just played on the swings before it started raining.
Thursday night Lorie and Elise came to visit.  I just love watching the kids play together.  Barrett thinks Elise hung the moon.  They are so sweet together.  They played and played.  It was nice to get to catch up with Lorie.  I hadn't seen her since the tornado back in April so we had a lot to catch up on.
Friday morning Barrett and I met Anna and Drake at the library for Toddler Time.  Drake was not a fan so they played out in the children's section of the library while Barrett and I got to hear a few stories and sing some songs.  Barrett wasn't sure about the whole thing but he sat quietly and just observed.  Our library has done some renovations since I was last there and it's so nice.  They have a nice area with a lot of toys for kids.  I think we'll be returning, especially when it's just too hot to be outside.
This boy loves Mickey Mouse.
Saturday we celebrated Harper's 6th birthday with water fun.  I didn't get any pictures of the kids playing outside.  I only got these two.  We had a great time.  All these kids are growing up way to fast.

He loves his daddy's sunglasses.
I'll write about Father's day in a separate post.

Splash Park

Today Mom and I took Drew, Ava, Porter and Harper to the Splash Park.  It was a nice day.  Not to hot or sunny and the kids had a ball.  I got some cute pictures of the four of them.

Harper's 3rd Birthday Party

I better share these photos of Harper's 3rd birthday.  She'll be four before we know it.

Last Sunday we celebrated Miss Harper's birthday with all things pink.  Pink cupcakes and a pink bounce house.  She was in heaven.  She's never been one to shy away from the spotlight so she soaked up every minute of "her day".
She looked so pretty in her pink dress.
Porter loves Eddie (the cat).  I loved this shot of him holding Eddie like a baby.  Honestly, if I were Eddie I would have already run away from these kids.  He's been locked in a closet for an unknown amount of time and thrown in the shower (while Leslie was taking a shower).  But for some reason he loves these kids.

I think it's safe to say they love him too.
John enjoying Porter's Spongebob recliner.
She blew the candles out before we were done singing.  It was pretty cute!

She was so happy it was finally her birthday!

She was so sweet opening gifts.  Everytime she opened a new one she'd get the biggest grin on her face.
Porter loved the bounce house.  As soon as I walked in the door he wanted me to jump with him.  Everytime someone new came in he wanted them to jump with him.

I love this picture.
Porter is trying to get the "milk" out of the bottle that Harper got.  It's one of those that you turn unside down it looks like the milk runs out.  He couldn't figure it out.  Harper is talking away on her cell phone.  She's such a mess.

Then Porter needed to talk too.

I wanted to get a shot of all four of them.  Porter was not having it so I got one of these three.  Drew is such a great big brother and Ava is a great big sister too.  (I can't believe how big they're getting.  Sidenote: Drew goes to middle school next year.)

Then the big kids had to ride big wheels.  I decided to sit this one out since my foot is still lloking pretty bad (three months after my accident!).

Porter was not going to be left out.

I think Harper had a wonderful day.  I can't believe she's 3 years old.  Time is flying by seems like just yesterday we were sitting in the hospital holding this brand new baby...

and now she's this precious little girl!

Happy Birthday Sweet girl!

Weekend Review

Are y'all ready for a post with actual words?
I've had a pretty good weekend.  Friday I headed over to my parents to welcome them home from the beach.  They'd been gone for a week and I was happy to see them.  We enjoyed sitting on the porch and hearing all about their trip!  They had such a good time.  It made me anxious for our trip next month!
Saturday morning my sister headed to Pepper Place market in Birmingham.  I'd never been.  It's basically a farmers market and they have some really neat (expensive) antique shops.  I bought a fried apple pie and Elizabeth got some goat cheese.  I enjoyed just walking around taking it all in!  After I got my nails done and some grocery shopping done I headed home.  Later I headed back to my parents to play wii with the kiddos.  (Although I never actually played I just watched Ava dance)

Me and Elizabeth at Pepper Place
This morning I went to get my little brother for church and Miss Harper was not happy with me.  She and Porter wanted to go to church too.  We went in John's Miata so there was no room for the babies.  I love a convertible.  I could ride for hours and hours with the wind blowing my hair.  It's so freeing to me.

Isn't she cute!  We call her Miss Attitude.  We were cleaning out my old closet and I found some old purses and gave her one.  You would have thought she just won the lottery!   She was so excited!

Also this week I finished Something Blue.  I'd read Something Borrowed  about 2 weeks ago and was excited to read the next installment.  It was good.  I enjoyed them both.  I can't wait to see the movie but I'm cheap and waiting for it to come to the dollar theater.
All in all it was a pretty great low key weekend.  We're excited for the upcoming holiday this weekend.  Can't wait to head up to the lake!

Slumber Party

No decorations yet...they're slowly going up.  I wasn't as motivated as I'd hoped!  I'll have it all finished by next week hopefully!
Now to the slumber party.  Ava, Harper and I had a blast last night!  I picked them up then I had to take some pictures of some friends for their Christmas card so they tagged along and were so good.  When we were on our way home from Amy and Sean's, Patrick called and his parents were having trouble with their printer so I stopped by there to see if I could help.  It was taking me a little longer than I thought it would and the girls were being really shy.  Mrs. Horton offered them some candy and they acted like they'd known her for years!  It was really sweet.  We left there and finally made it to my house.  We ate hot dogs for dinner.  I think Harper only ate ketchup.  After the movie we watched Beauty and the Beast.  Which is my favorite Disney movie.  They quickly went to sleep after the movie and slept till 8:00 this morning when Ally woke them up.  We ate breakfast, took baths, got dressed and made it to church 10 minutes early.  I was pretty proud of myself!

Those are just a couple of the shots of Amy, Sean and Chloe.  I thought they turned out so cute!

Getting ready to watch Beauty and the Beast!

I told them to make a funny face. I was the only one who listened!
We had a great time.  I love getting to be an aunt.  It was so sweet to hear them laughing this morning when Ally went in to wake them up.  I think Ally loved having them here!  It's been a great weekend!  I'm so looking forward to this week.  We have lots going on!  I have a feeling it's only the beginning of a very busy holiday season!

Guess Who...

got to spend the night at Aunt Maggie & Uncle Hort's (that's what the kids call Patrick) house.  This sweet little angel did! She was so precious.  She was so good.  Sunday morning I was cooking and she played and played with all my mixing bowls.
Miss Harper Claire
This was right after we got home.  She was playing peek-a-boo with the quilt.  Ally was just a little bit jealous.

Playing in the kitchen!  Isn't she just the sweetest thing!

She decided to make this cabinet her storage place she hid her monkey and sippy cup in there!

Ally watched her while I took a shower and she took a nap!

Oh what a weekend

This weekend was so busy but so worth it!  Saturday I went trick-or-treating with my nieces and nephews.  They were so cute!
