Weekend Recap

I had a busy weekend! Friday night my mom, dad sister and I went to the local civic center and watched the outdoor movie. They usually show kids movies but we talked them into showing a movie for the older kids and adults so this time they showed...

the sing along version. My sister and I belted out the tunes. We had a blast!

This was before the show stared!

Saturday I worked all morning organizing our bills in our new office. I will post pictures as soon as I get it all put together. There are still a few things to be done! That night I went to a friends wedding. It was beautiful! Beth was a beautiful bride. I didn't take any pictures... I am now regretting that! After the wedding my sister and I went to Target and to visit her friend that just got back from Thailand. It was good to see her.

Sunday before church Patrick and I worked in the office some more then I went to church andto lunch at my parents! Patricks parents came by Sunday afternoon to see the office. Then we watched Taken. It was a really good movie. I recommend to to anyone who likes suspense thrillers.

All in all it was a wonderfully busy weekend. This weekend I am heading to the lake. Patrick has to work.

Tribute...

June 25, 2009

Farrah Fawcett... The only memory I have of this woman... At our family lake cabin we have a coffee mug with the infamous red swimsuit photo on it. The boys always fight over it. Well they don't really fight but whoever gets up first always gets the Farrah mug! I will also remember of course your hair and smile. Even in the end when you were fighting this disease you let us into your struggle but I was always amazed at your ability to still wear such a big bright smile! We hate that you died of this terrible disease but we admire the attention you brought to it. Cancer affects so many lives only those who have been through it or lost someone to it can truly understand!

Michael Jackson. You were affectionately known as "Wacko Jacko" for a reason. I just can't help but look past your personal life to enjoy your music. On a bad day I simply slip in Thriller and it instantly makes me smile. Every event my family goes to where there is a DJ or you can request music we always request Thriller. It is and will continue to be a family favorite! I wish I could have been a teenager in the height of your stardom professionally.

This will be one of those days where my children ask where were you when. So for them... When I heard the news of Farrah I was sitting at my desk at work and I saw the headline on People.com
I immediately texted my sister to tell her the news. She was upset. It was a sad day.

Then Patrick and I were watching the news where they broke in to live coverage to tell us the news. Michael Jackson had gone into cardiac arrest. They later broke in to tell us they were unable to save his life. It too was very sad. When I got up to call my sister she was texting me. She had heard the news and wanted my to confirm it.

Office Furniture

We have finally broken down and bought a new desk, bookcase and desk chair for our office. We were using a desk the previous owners left for us, and it didn't leave a lot of room to pay bills and wasn't easy to keep organized. So Monday we ordered the furniture and yesterday when I got home from work the desk was waiting on me. Assembly required of course but it was already here. I was so excited. Then while I was cooking dinner Patrick came in the kitchen and told me there was someone at the door. I told him to answer it. So he goes to peak out the window to see if it was someone selling something one of the neighborhood kids wanting to play with Ally...well it was the desk chair. So he immediately started putting it together. When I woke this morning he was assembling the desk. Secretly I was sad I wasn't going to be there to help him actually put it in the office. I am also nervous about what all he is going to try to organize!

I can't wait to show the finished product! I am so excited!

Gather 'Round the Watercooler

I am beginning to not like Jillian as much! She is so sweet and cute but I think she over analyzes most everyone except the one guy who is truly there for himself only.
Hopefully she will see this but she is running out of time. I wonder if she'll meet Wes's girlfriend next week on the hometown date!Wes you are a creep and I hope you never sell a single album. Plus your one song you've sung stinks! (Thank goodness we haven't had to hear it in a couple weeks)
Jake just cut your losses!!! I personally think she is scared that her life might actually be "perfect" with you!
My new favorites (since Jake is no more) are Reid, Jesse, and Kyptin. Although it looks from the previews that Wes and Michael both get overnight dates! So we shall see!!!
Jon and Kate...quit saying you are doing everything you do for the kids. Kids deserve to have a Mom and Dad both living in the same house everyday! They don't need vacations, toys or crooked houses (even though those were pretty cool). They just need you both to get along and show them how communication and a relationship works. Right now you are simply showing them when things get tough...well just give up and start a new chapter! I think they should have to go back and pay for that Hawaii trip since it was all to "show" (and for ratings) the kids that they will be together forever. What a lie!

I hate that I am so involved in these shows but I can't help but watch. My goal is to stat living my life in a way that makes me feel interesting. Not that I want people to "watch" but right now I am wasting my life watching other people live theirs. I don't want to look back and wonder what happened to these years of my life!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a wonderful Father's day! I didn't sleep good last night after everything I ate! We started at my parents for lunch of bar-b-que and all the fixins! It was a great afternoon. For dinner we headed to the Horton's where he had tacos. I ate so much! It was all so yummy!
Sweet Porter was my model while I was searching for a place to take the photos.
Daddy and his grandkids! (Ally would have also been in the photo but she didn't make the trip due to a flea outbreak at the grandparents house!)
My brother with his beautiful kids!
Daddy with his babies!

I am so upset... I meant to get Patrick's picture with Ally but I forgot!

I am so thankful both my dad and Patrick's dad! They are each amazing!

Tactful Bride...

Friday night my sister and I went to a Bachelorette party for a friend of ours. It is really neat because she has a sister the same age as my sister so we like to all hang out together. Although we don't do it very often. They are the kind of friends that even when you don't see them very often you just pick right back up where you left off. I love them. (I think they simply tolerate me and love my sister but I'll take it either way!) We went to dinner at P.F. Changs which was so yummy! Then we went back to Caroline's house and had dessert! It was a blast catching up and thinking back to the way I felt a week before my wedding!
Beth the beautiful bride!

Caroline, Beth and Jessica...they have been best friends since Junior high.Me and my sister!Beth and her sister Whitney! The oh so yummy Fruit Pizza!

All in all it was a wonderful night! I wish Beth nothing but the best as she approaches her wedding day! I can't wait I know it will be beautiful! Just remember to be Tactful!!!

98 degrees and climbing!

Seriously... 98 degrees and it's only June... it's going to be a long summer. Yesterday I was going to put our big dogs outside, I opened the door and they looked at me as if I had just opened the door to hell! Needless to say neither of them stayed outside yesterday or today! They've enjoyed staying in the cool basement. We have been throwing around the idea of getting them one of those plastic baby pools but aren't sure if they'll enjoy it or not!

Harper's birthday was a blast Friday night. A storm blew through and knocked the power out but all in all it was pretty good! She loved the cake but wasn't so sure about everyone singing to her. I think Porter loved the cupcakes the most!

After the party Ava and Drew wanted to come spend the night at my house. So Drew, Ava, Elizabeth, and I went back to my house. Drew went straight to sleep but Ava and Elizabeth stayed up for a little while. It rained the entire time they were there. Saturday they woke up before I did and when Ally and I woke up she went straight to the guest room looking for them. They had to call her into the living room because she thought they were somewhere in that bedroom. It was really cute! I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast!

Then Ally got a bath! While they watched Superman! Ally hates a bath she tries to hide behind the toilet.

After Ally's bath we watched Night at the Museum. I love that movie and can't wait to see the new one!

"All By Myself..." Is it really that bad?

Okay I'm not actually "all by myself" because I do have my husband...but you see he works weekends, and nights pretty much whenever I'm not working he is! It is so hard to hang out with my married friends when my husband is unavailable. I feel like such a loser! Then to make things worse my sister had to make me feel like crap because I didn't want to spend my last ten dollars for the week at the movies. I don't like going to the movies, especially during the weekends. My sister thinks I am anti social. I just hate paying all that money to go to a movie where I am going to be distracted by some kids walking up and down the stairs or someone on their cell phone. Plus I always feel bad when I go and do fun stuff while Patrick is at work. Especially if it is something that I think he would enjoy! Oh well I guess that's part of life. We're just thankful that he has a pretty secure job!

Happy Birthday Harper Claire!!!

Today is my sweet niece's first birthday! Not that she'll know I wrote this I still wanted to remember her!!! Here are a few pictures of her over the year! She is the sweetest baby and loves her big brothers and sister so much!

Just a few pictures over the year! Okay a lot of pictures...I just can't help it she's so darn cute!

Do it Yourself Project

I am so excited about the little DIY project I did this week! Patrick and I are trying to redo (or actually just do) our office. We had a desk that the people we bought from left. It is very cluttered and not very functional so we thought for our birthdays this summer we would buy a new desk and a bookshelf. Well I had a white filing cabinet and the desk and shelf are black so I wanted to still use the filing cabinet. I had some wallpaper that was given to me that i wasn't going to use on the wall that was a black and white print so I used it to cover the cabinet and just painted the drawers black. I was so excited with how it turned out!
With out further ado...

What's a girl to do?

Okay I am at a point in my life where a lot of my friends are getting pregnant and having babies, so the topic of baby names comes up often. Now while I am not ready to have a baby and don't feel like I will be for a year or two I do have names picked out (I feel very confident that most girls do). Where my problem comes is I don't know whether or not I should share my baby names with other people. I am worried that someone might "steal" them but in the same sense I don't want them to use them either. Some of them are family names so they are very special to Patrick and I. I know in the grand scheme of things this is not really that big of a deal!
What do yall think...do you tell or not?

PS: What are yall's names and how did you choose them?

Doggie Daycare!

Just wanted to share some cute pictures of the pups at work in their new pool! Molly definitely loved it the most!
Molly peaking to see if the pool is full yet!

Isabella curious if this is going to be a good idea or not!
Ally is sure this is a bad idea!

At first Molly just thought it was a giant water bowl!

"Come swim with me!!"

"Isn't this fun!"
Ally didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked her to!
"Cannon Ball!!!"

They were pooped after about 15 minutes!
