Harper's 3rd Birthday Party

I better share these photos of Harper's 3rd birthday.  She'll be four before we know it.

Last Sunday we celebrated Miss Harper's birthday with all things pink.  Pink cupcakes and a pink bounce house.  She was in heaven.  She's never been one to shy away from the spotlight so she soaked up every minute of "her day". 

She looked so pretty in her pink dress.

Porter loves Eddie (the cat).  I loved this shot of him holding Eddie like a baby.  Honestly, if I were Eddie I would have already run away from these kids.  He's been locked in a closet for an unknown amount of time and thrown in the shower (while Leslie was taking a shower).  But for some reason he loves these kids.

I think it's safe to say they love him too.

She blew the candles out before we were done singing.  It was pretty cute!

She was so happy it was finally her birthday!

She was so sweet opening gifts.  Everytime she opened a new one she'd get the biggest grin on her face. 

Porter loved the bounce house.  As soon as I walked in the door he wanted me to jump with him.  Everytime someone new came in he wanted them to jump with him.

Porter is trying to get the "milk" out of the bottle that Harper got.  It's one of those that you turn unside down it looks like the milk runs out.  He couldn't figure it out.  Harper is talking away on her cell phone.  She's such a mess.

Then Porter needed to talk too.

I wanted to get a shot of all four of them.  Porter was not having it so I got one of these three.  Drew is such a great big brother and Ava is a great big sister too.  (I can't believe how big they're getting.  Sidenote: Drew goes to middle school next year.)

Then the big kids had to ride big wheels.  I decided to sit this one out since my foot is still lloking pretty bad (three months after my accident!).

Porter was not going to be left out.

I think Harper had a wonderful day.  I can't believe she's 3 years old.  Time is flying by seems like just yesterday we were sitting in the hospital holding this brand new baby...

and now she's this precious little girl!

Living Room Sprucing Up

I finally got my living room looking good enough to show yall!  I'm so excited!

When we bought our house (almost four years ago!) every room had been freshly painted (except the basement den) so we didn't do much when we moved in.  All of our widnow treatments were left by the previous owners and we figured if we're not going to change the paint colors we wouldn't change the curtains either (for the time being at least).

It all started when I moved this settee up to the living room. I'd bought it from a friend for the basement but decided we needed something in the window. We also needed the extra seating. This prompted moving the TV to above the fireplace.  I knew I wanted new curtains with some color because everything was so blah beige boring.  I found these at World Market and I love them.  The wall color is Linen by Eddie Bauer.  It's a grey color.  Our whole house is this color except the kitchen.  I hate to paint so I'm trying to work with it. 

I love how the curtains look against the beige settee and the green chair.

Yes, the deer head is still in our living room.  No, I don't love it but I try to pick my battles and Patrick lets me do pretty much anything I want decor wise so I'm tolerating it.  He says he'll move it to the man room when he kills another one. 

Here's the new ladder bookcase with the TV on the wall.  Have I mentioned how much I love the TV up there.  We love it.  It makes the room seem so much bigger!  I wish we'd done it four years ago!

I love this mirror.  I found it in my parents basement.  It looks better in person.  It looks weird in the photo, not sure why.  I also found that lamp in my parents basement.  I love it.  I'm not sure how I feel about that shade but it's the best one I've found so far so I'm going with it!

I've still got to get some throw pillows and such.  I also have one of our wedding pictures that I want to hang on the wall I'm just not sure where yet.  But I'm in love with how it's turned out so far. 

I'm working on the kitchen now.  It may be my favorite room when I get finished!

Balanced Diet

This has been my dinner most nights this week.  I love it.  I think I could eat it everyday.  And to think I used to hate Mexican food!

That's What Friends Are For

My best friend Kristen was taking the Praxis exam this morning so yesterday my sister and I took her these flowers so she'd have something pretty to look at while she was doing some last minute studying.  Stargazer Lilies are her favorite flower.  She was so excited!  It was fun to see that something so small seemed to mean so much to her. 

Day 160Then tonight Kristen, Lorie and I went to dinner.  It didn't go exactly as planned.  We were waiting at a restaurant and the power went out.  We waited around for a while hoping it would come back on.  We walked over to World Market because I wanted to look at their curtains.  I found three panels I loved but I couldn't decide which I'd like best in my living room so I bought all three.  After dinner we came back to the house and hung all three to decide which we liked the best.  It was a tough decision but I think I finally decided.  Lorie is finally showing and she looks so good.  She's always been a beautiful girl but something about pregnancy makes her even more beautiful!  After we picked out my curtains we went to see the furniture for the baby's room (she has a name but I can't share it yet, let's just say Kristen and I are beyond thrilled :)).  This sweet baby already has more clothes than I do and I'm pretty sure it's only going to get worse!

Sister Time

My sister and I were supposed to go see Scream 4 but because of traffic we didn't make it :(. So instead we curled each others hair. Hers didn't look so great and mine was looking really good until the power went out and she couldn't finish it!

We had so much fun.  It took me back to us being kids and me begging her to let me play with her hair.  She would always agree when I told her she could play with mine too but she had to go first.  I almost never actually let her play with mine.  Yeah, I was pretty much a brat!

Patrick "made" breakfast this morning! We've decided that Saturday mornings are going to be our weekly dates. It takes a lit of sacrifice to get up early my one day to sleep in but it's worth it.
